Richard J. Aull has over 40 years' engineering experience in the cooling tower industry. Prior to becoming an independent consultant, he was Director of Application Engineering within the Cooling Tower Group at Brentwood Industries. His responsibilities included application engineering, new product development, product quality assurance standards and sales support of both the domestic and the international sales teams.
Earlier in his career, he held a variety of engineering positions with Research Cottrell’s Hamon Cooling Tower Division and Ecodyne Cooling Tower Services Group, specializing in cooling tower ratings, project engineering and thermal upgrading of all types of cooling towers.
Rich is active in the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI), having served as a board member and Vice Chair of the Performance & Technology (P&T) Committee. He is currently serving as the Software Publishing Task Group Vice Chair and Vice Chair of the Multi-Agency Testing Committee. In addition, he is a voting member of various P&T standards development task groups. He has published technical papers and conducted seminars on a variety of cooling tower topics for: Cooling Technology Institute, Electric Power Research Institute, International Water Conference, IAHR Conference on Cooling Towers and Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, National Thermal Power Corporation’s India Power Station Conference, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Rich received his B.S. & M.S. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology specializing in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Pennsylvania.
